Frequently Asked Questions:

  • Besides the different motor to support higher speeds, are there any differences on this L9 model?
The L9’s controller has been programmed to support the ‘HS’ motor, but otherwise the two variants of the L9 are identical.
  • Can the L9 HS climb hills as well as the original slower variant?
No, although the original L9 has 7MPH lower top speed, it was designed to provide more torque for high climbing. If you’re in a hilly area, than you may want to consider another model with dual-motors, or the original L9.
  • Is rapid-charging supported?
Because of the propriety charger interface, not at the moment. We are working on offering a charging interface adapter for one of the rapid-chargers to support this at a later time.
  • What type of warranty is offered with the L9?
One of the many advantages of buying a scooter from eWheels is that we have a dedicated servicing center in Arizona to deal with warranty related issues, in addition to a network of service partners across the country, this covers parts & labour but not the shipping costs, which may be between $100-$175 (within the US), depending on the distance from our repair centre. It does not cover consumables such as the tire or innertube. Exclusions to the warranty are where there is evidence  abuse, crashes, or commercial use.
  • Will you be listing spare parts for the L9?
Yes, these will be posted onto the parts section of the website in a couple weeks.
  • Can I take the Scooter on a plane?
Unfortunately not. The maximum permitted battery size on a commercial airline is 160Wh, & it needs to be removable, neither condition of which is met with this Scooter.
