2019-2020 Gotway/Begode MSP, Nikola+, RS Battery Pack Fire Hazard & Disposal
Model: MSP, RS, Nikola+
Plan of Action
Common Questions and Answers about the Recall:
Can I continue using my Wheel until I receive replacement battery packs, as I rely on it daily for transportation?
No. The battery packs in your Wheel pose a serious and immediate danger. For the safety of yourself, your family, and your property, they must be disposed of immediately. Multiple reports have indicated that Wheels can catch fire without warning, so it is essential to remove the battery packs as soon as possible.
The top priority is to remove the battery packs from your home as soon as possible. If you are having trouble finding a disposal site, we will try to explore alternative options, but in the meantime, it is important to remove the battery packs from your home immediately.
Unfortunately, we are unable to offer a trade-in program at this time due to the financial strain of undertaking this recall. We have not received any support from Begode in any form.
If I have a friend who purchased an MSP, Nikola+, or RS from a different source, can they purchase a replacement LiTech battery set from eWheels.com?
Our top priority is to serve our customers. If there are sufficient supplies of battery packs remaining or available in the next production run, we will try to accommodate requests from individuals who were not originally our customers.
Are other early Gotway Wheels with 18650 battery packs also affected by this issue, such as the EX.Ns and MonsterPros?
What measures have been taken to minimize the risks of similar events occurring with the new LiTech battery packs?
We are working with the CPSC on this matter and you can find a link to their official statement here:
