Turbowheel Pacer Key Features:

  • 1000W Motor: the single 1000W motor powers the scooter up to a speed of 30MPH. Compared to the Speedway 3 & 4, this motor is considerably quieter, while packing nearly double the power output.
  • Large 1156Wh/22.4Ah Battery: this is the same battery pack used on the original ‘high capacity’ variant of the Lightning, with 98x LG MH1 18650 cells, for capacity of 1156Wh; this provides up to 40 miles of range at moderate cruising speed.
  • Rear shocks & large 10×2″ tires: the combined effects of suspension & large tires absorb much of impact from the road surface, providing a smoother ride experience to the standing deck.
  • Lighting & Aesthetics: as with the Dart, the Pacer has the same illuminated stem & under-deck LED lighting to give it that extra ‘wow’ factor, these also help for safety with better low-light visibility.
  • Brakes: front & rear disc brakes, with supplementary braking power provided by the powerful motor through regeneration.
  • Reduced weight: at 24lb less weight than the Lightning, while still being able to deliver a max cruising speed of 30+ MPH
  • Value: Priced $200 less than the ‘entry’ level Lightning, but the larger/better LG battery pack.

Turbowheel Swift/Dart LG M26 Battery Pack vs Sincpower 2600

LG Battery Pack vs Sincpower

One the key improvements in the Pacer over other T10s that are sold, is that this battery pack is fitted with the LG MH1 3.2Ah cells vs instead of the Chinese Sincpower 2600 or lower capacity LG MG26 cells. On paper these cells have virtually identical performance, as the 2.6Ah cells, of 10A sustained output; the advantage of the LG MH1, is that they’re backed up by a multi-billion dollar company, with state-of-the-art ISO certified manufacturing facilities to ensure absolute consistency from one production batch to another. It is not known how well the Sincpower cells will hold up over time, since there’s no published datasheet on the cells.

Frequently Asked Questions:

  • What is difference between the Pacer & the T10 offered by some other sellers?
The main improvement on the Pacer is the larger 22.4Ah LG battery pack vs the standard 18Ah Sincpower/LG battery, providing about 20% extra range & increased battery lifespan.
  • Is there a seat available for Pacer?
Yes, we have these available now for $115 inclusive of shipping.
  • Can the front stem & under-deck LEDs operate independently of the main lighting?
No, they’re interconnected. Pressing & holding the mode button for a few seconds will power the Lights. The colors are also fixed, a blueish white on the front & blue under the deck. These lights are not purely decorative, they also serve to illuminated the path ahead & increase Rider visibility.
  • Is it possible to use solid or tubeless tires instead of the the stock ones?
Tubeless tires require a homologous rim, which decreases the probability of getting flats, but this is offset by the difficulty of changing out the tire on the rim. These motors have split rims, simplifying the tire/tube change process. Off-road knobbly tires are also available for the this scooter.
  • What are the ‘Gears’, how do they correspond to the speed?
There are no physical gears, it’s a direct drive hub motor, with the three virtual gears, it allow the Rider to quickly set the top speeds to 15, 22, and 30mph respectively. This is could be useful if lending the scooter to a friend or family member to try out.
  • Is cruise-control available, how does this work?
The P17 setting enables/disabled cruise-control. When enabled & you hold the throttle engaged at the same speed for up to 5 seconds, the scooter will continue to sustain the speed after you release the throttle. Pulling either the throttle or the brake will disengage the cruise control. Please be advised, that using cruise-control can be dangerous if not used correctly!
  • Is the Pacer water-resistant, can I use it in the rain?
The Manufacturer’s recommendation is that you try to avoid excessively wet conditions, puddles & standing water. During assembly, the factory has sealed up the entry points to the battery compartment, etc; however, if it is very wet, water may find its way into the sensitive interior, resulting in water related damage.
  • How many charge/discharge cycles can one expect from the battery pack?
This depends on a variety of factors: the weight of the Rider, high usage of regenerative braking, frequent hill use, how hard it’s driven, weather conditions (freezing temperatures are not ideal for Li-ion batteries), & most importantly the end-point charging voltage. If you use the 5A fast-charger & set the termination point to 80%, this single action alone can extend the lifespan of the battery by up to 4-5 times! The other benefit of partial charging, is that it lowers the risk of degrading your battery pack through the use of regenerative braking on a full charge.
  • What is the expected lifespan of the rear tire & who much does it cost to replace?
Estimated to last for 2000-3000 miles, depending a number of factors like weight, riding style, aggressive braking, etc. A replacement set of tires can be purchase for around $65.
  • Will you be offering spare parts? What spares will I expect to need over time?
Yes, part of being a ‘full service’ Company is that we offer the largest selection of spare parts for all our products. You will be able to find a list of available parts through our online store.
  • What type of warranty offered?
We offer a one year warranty for the parts & labour. It does not include shipping costs, which may be between $50-$150 (within the US), depending on the distance from our repair center in Tucson, AZ. While other dealers of Electric Scooters typically only offer a 3-6 warranty for the battery pack, we stand by all our products with a full one year warranty. Exclusions to the warranty are wear-and-tear & improper use, please refer to our warranty page for the full terms & conditions.
